Laurie and Al are living their dream while making dreams come true for others! After more than 30 years of marriage, this happy twosome have the privilege of helping couples from all over the world plan their wedding day to exquisite perfection. Working with the couple and their family, Laurie carefully attends to every detail of your Maui wedding ceremony or vow renewal. On the wedding day, Al, an ordained minister, unites the couple in a simple yet poignant ceremony in beautiful, magical Maui.

Laurie was born in Canada. Due to her father's career in the armed forces, her family moved often and they lived in different parts of Canada and Germany. With the constant relocating, Laurie learned to make friends quickly and easily and to adapt to new adventures. Growing up she taught swimming and became a lifeguard. And after graduating moved to Vancouver, British Columbia and in 1975 she became a dental assistant, but she was always open to whatever excitement life would bring to her. Later that year she was introduced to a handsome young merchant seaman from Hawaii. At that time, Al was known as ”Brudda Al” and Laurie could not foresee that he would one day become Reverend Alapaki. Madly in love, Laurie and Al married and made Hawaii their permanent home. Laurie continued on as a dental assistant and then became a nail technician, winning international awards for creative nail art. An opportunity came about to work at one of Maui’s premier hotels and this brought Laurie into the hospitality industry. The experience of working with people in many different situations gave Laurie the confidence to embark on a new career as a wedding and event planner.

Reverend Alapaki, was born and raised in Honolulu, the oldest of seven children. Al's family loved music and were well known throughout the island for their musical accomplishments. After graduating from high school, Al became a merchant seaman, traveling the world until meeting Laurie in Vancouver.  He and Laurie married in Hawaii, and in 1979 they moved to Maui where he toiled in the construction industry for the next 15 years. However, Al never lost his true passion and continued his 'other' career of playing music. Finally, Al left construction and began to play Hawaiian music as part of a duo, performing at Maui weddings and receptions. It was during this time that God opened a door for him to become an ordained Minister, and he began to officiate at weddings and vow renewals. God has blessed Al with an extraordinary gift for touching people in a very special way in a very short time. This path has now become a full time Ministry for Al. In addition to performing weddings and vow renewals, he dedicates babies and officiates at other blessings and memorials.

Reverend Alapaki and Laurie are grateful that they have been so richly blessed, and continue to feel privileged to guide and assist couples in creating their dream Maui wedding or vow renewal. Whether it is just the happy couple or larger groups of family and friends, they have the expertise and knowledge to make the celebration a beautiful and relaxing occasion. They absolutely love what they are doing and welcome the opportunity to assist you in making your special day stress free and picture perfect.
